There are many great places to wakeboard on the East Coast. Believe it or not, New Jersey has some really good spots to wakeboard. You would not think one of the smallest states in the US can accommodate hard core wakeboarders but it does. Lake Hopatcong is the largest lake in New Jersey and has many options for the average water sports enthusiast. The lake has several coves so if there are other boats in one area, you can go to another. The lake is big enough to accommodate fishermen, wakeboarders, water skiers and pleasure cruisers. Greenwood Lake is another great lake in New Jersey. Greenwood Lake is technically bigger than Lake Hopatcong but only half of it resides in New Jersey. The other half of Greenwood Lake is located in New York. Budd Lake is a nice little lake in New Jersey. You never see too many boats on that lake so it’s obviously good for calm water. Just beware that there are some shallow spots so keep a good distance from the buoys. Culver Lake looks like a pretty good spot to wakeboard. I am not too familiar with this lake but it definitely looks big enough. Bordentown, New Jersey has a boat ramp with access to the Delaware River. Although not a lake, it is a pretty popular spot to wakeboard. What are some good lakes or rivers that you wakeboard in? |
